• Triage, by phone to establish if treatment needed can be described as a dental emergency and to establish if a patient has any risk factors associated with Covid-19
• You will be asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to the appointment and wait in your car or outside of the practice.
• A member of staff will then call you and you will be directed to an area to wash your hands and take an antiseptic mouthwash.
• You will be directed to the dental surgery where the dentist caries out any necessary treatment within current limits and/or give appropriate advice.
• Dentist and nurse change into the PPE:
O Surgical Gowns
O Surgical Hair Net.
O Protective Eye Wear or Loupes.
O FFP2 Mask and Face Shield.
O Dental Latex Gloves.
Surgery set up: disposable covers on suction and drill hose and sticky covers on handles, x-rays, lights etc.
The surgery is then completely wiped down & window opened to ventilate. Gowns off and into autoclave.
• Doors are opened and closed by staff, so you don’t have to touch any surfaces.
• Payment is taken by phone to minimize the amount of time you are in the practice and to prevent you from touching keypads etc.
